Organic Merchant Mother Nature Tea was specifically created for pregnant women. All herbs in this pregnancy tea blend are used to calm the nerves and prepare the uterus for labour in traditional medicine. Organic raspberry leaf tea, found in this blend, is made from the green leaves of the red raspberry plant. It contains many health benefits, but it is most commonly used in pregnancy. After becoming pregnant, it is best not to drink raspberry leaf tea unless you are in the last trimester, which is when it helps to tone the uterus and can assist in preparing for labour. When looking to purchase organic raspberry leaf tea in Australia, ensure that you are purchasing it from a reputable source.

Miron violet glass is the best way to package herbs. This is because of the unique structure of the glass and its ability to maintain the quality of the product inside over a significant period of time. Miron glass only allows violet light (ultraviolet A (UVA), infrared (IR) and violet lights) to penetrate through its surface and blocks out all other visible light within the spectrum that have been known to accelerate the decaying process. So no loss of colour and no signs of drying out! It also means that the therapeutic benefit of the tea stays intact for longer. Miron glass is also eco friendly. It is made from natural raw materials and is reusable and 100% recyclable. This is extremely important to Organic Merchant as they are 100% plastic free in their production process and want to ensure all packaging they offer has the smallest impact on the enviroment as possible. A significantly longer shelf life, reusing and recycling all help to preserve our planetās natural resources.
Raspberry leaf: is both a parturient and astringent, toning the uterine membranes and strengthening the pelvic floor and uterine muscle tissue which may assist with childbirth. This toning action may increase the contractility of the uterine walls and makes for more effectual contractions during labour.
Research has also found that women who drink red raspberry leaf tea regularly towards the end of their pregnancies had a shorten labour with no identified side effects for the women or their babies. The findings also suggest that women who ingest raspberry leaf tea might decrease the likelihood of pre and post-term gestation. They may be less likely to receive an artificial rupture of their membranes, or require a caesarean section, forceps or vacuum birth than women who do not consume raspberry leaf.
Nettle leaf: Known to be extremely nutritious and has an impressive nutritional composition, most notably for its iron content which is most important during the 3rd trimester. Other nutrients include Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium and Sodium. It has a high protein content and has a better amino acid profile than most other leafy vegetables.
Shatavari: A highly regarded reproductive tonic for womenās health. Asparagus racemosus is also the best known Ayurvedic tonic for women after childbirth. This rejuvenating herb has traditionally been used for balancing hormones, and may strengthen and supports the nervous system, help prevent postnatal depression, enhances and enriches milk supply, promote healthy energy levels, and soothes the digestive tract and boost the immune system.
Rose petals: Used in Chinese medicine for more than 4000 years. Rose is especially useful in alleviating insomnia typical in the 3rd trimester, as well as tension and anxiety around childbirth and preventing postnatal depression. Rosa centifolia increases the elasticity and strengths the integrity of vasculature. Therefore it prevents and treats varicosities and fluid retention, soothes the digestive tract in both mother and child and is an effective treatment for urinary tract infections associated with pregnancy.
